A psychological thriller centered around Alicia Berenson, a celebrated painter who is accused of murdering her husband, Gabriel. After allegedly shooting him multiple times, Alicia stops speaking entirely and is placed in a psychiatric facility, where she remains silent and unresponsive. Her only form of expression becomes a haunting self-portrait she paints after the murder, titled Alcestis, named after a Greek tragedy about a woman who sacrifices herself for her husband.
